We built Outmap from the perspective of people who need it, like us. It's a tool crafted with a deep respect for the mountains and for the community that explores them.
Our purpose is simple: to help you find your way, make smarter decisions, and have a better, safer time doing what you love. We believe that our experiences in the mountains make us grow, strengthen our physical and mental health, push us to find more resourceful ways of living, and teach us respect and humility.
Team
We're not a faceless corporation; we're the riders, climbers, and bikers debating route choices over coffee, the ones who share a beer at the trailhead afterwards.
Our mission is to inspire people and enable them to experience the mountains for themselves. We share summit successes and first attempts at exploration with all who want to be a part of this experience.
And we're also there when you need confidence and support you need to surpass your own limits.
Outmap wasn't born from a business plan. It started as a weekend project for our own ski tours.
Félix – a developer who would rather be riding – began building the mapping tool he and his crew actually wanted. The goal was straightforward: a clean, powerful platform with custom 3D imagery and the topo layers needed for planning tours and vetting terrain. No fluff, just utility.
The tool was already working well for us, but the official sunset of FATMAP kicked the project into a higher gear. Our crew, and the wider mountain community, was suddenly left without a critical tool.
We saw our side project in a new light. So, we did what any self-respecting toolmaker would do: we refined it and made it available to everyone. Not to take its place, but to make sure our community wasn't left holding the bag.

We partner with people and organizations who add real value to the mountain community
Outmap is a craft, and it's constantly being refined based on real-world use. We don't have all the answers, because hey, we're not walking crystal balls. The best ideas come from the field – from you.
Have an idea for a feature or an improvement? We're all ears.
