I spend more time then I’m proud to admit nerding out on Outmap, nothing prepares me better for new zones then the 3D and terrain features. A must have tool for backcountry travel

Outmap's Adaptive Terrain feature is the most innovative feature to come to mapping apps since 3D maps. It quickly allows me to toggle between topo and satellite imagery on the fly. Outmap is a very fast and intuitive mapping app with the best 3D functionality I've used.

I’ve taken Outmap on a journey over the past year and it’s been integral for planning shoot days, scouting lines, checking light, and pinning/sharing locations.

Big fan of Outmap. It’s intuitive to use, and the imagery really brings terrain to life. It makes planning mountain days both efficient and inspiring—and it was an invaluable tool while preparing for my ski guide exam.

Episode

Ben Atherton - Making Room for Adventure

Ben Atherton has built a career that proves you don't always have to choose between a conventional profession and an obsession with the mountains. While holding down a traditional career, he carved out opportunities to work at the very highest level of mountain sport, spending years with the Freeride World Tour before becoming involved with the British Ski Mountaineering Team. Along the way he's also become part of the team behind Backdrop Journal, helping tell authentic stories from the backcountry community. In this episode we talk about creating a life that leaves room for adventure, working behind the scenes in elite mountain sports, and why some of the most rewarding careers aren't always the most obvious ones.
