Browning Bluffs
Browning Bluffs is a group of crags above Browning Lake in Murrin Provincial Park, on the east side of Highway 99. The area combines excellent sport and trad climbing across more than 20 pitches, reached by a straightforward 10–15 minute hike. West-facing cliffs stay shaded until mid-afternoon, with additional forest shade later in the day, making the bluffs particularly suited to morning climbing.
The crags include several distinct walls. Poltergeist is a 35 m formation with long, exposed-feeling lines, while Fly By Night contains the tallest cliff in the woods and includes some suspect rock; helmets are recommended there. The route list ranges from 5.10c to 5.12c, with notable lines including Cracker Jack, Poltergeist, Firestarter, and the steep arete of No More Tears. Both bolted sport routes and trad pitches are represented, with some climbs requiring a standard rack rather than bolts alone.
