Ingraham Glacier Direct

The Ingraham Glacier is the most traveled route on the mountain and is frequently ascended and descended by ski mountaineers.

The Dissapointment Cleaver - Ingraham Glacier route offers less solitude and more certainty, passing through Camp Muir and often maintained by the guide services with a boot track to follow and ladders or protection equipped at crux points. Even the easiest route on the mountain is not to be taken lightly however, as significant objective hazard can be present and self sufficiency is imperative for a safe ascent and descent.

At the start of the climbing season the preferred maintained route is often the Ingraham Direct, a more ski friendly alternative to the DC which zig zags the crevassed glacier section between Ingraham Flats and Camp Comfort. This route is often chosen as an ascent to access more technical and hazardous descent routes, and can be skied back down if you find your preferred line is not in condition or simply chosen as its own worthwhile descent.
