Choke

Narrow choke that can be problematic when the snowpack is thin, with rocks and other obstacles close to the surface. In a deeper snow year it tends to fill in and ski more cleanly, but still rides tighter than the rest of the line. It's easy to scope from the highway.

A mellower bypass trends skier’s left around the main constriction. From above, identify the choke, then traverse left early on stable snow to pick up the alternate line and avoid getting funneled into the tightest section.
