Blue Ridge Trail

Blue Ridge Trail (#107) is a forested hike near Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona, within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and part of the White Mountains Trail System. The trail is maintained by TRACKS.

For hikers, it’s typically done as a loop with two practical distance options: a shorter 5.78-mile loop and a longer loop around 9–10 miles. Plan on roughly 2 hours for the shorter loop.

The route is described as slightly challenging, with moderate elevation gain. It’s laid out on ground surface and is also designated for equestrians and mountain bikers, so expect mixed-use traffic on shared segments.

A shortcut-loop option exists that was built as part of a local trail project; it’s associated with TRACKS trail planning and was completed by a contractor, with the shortcut trail then dedicated by June 2024 (as part of the Lumberjack Trail dedication work).

There are trailhead-access patterns within the system: Blue Ridge Trail #107 can connect to other named trails in the White Mountains Trail System, including Billy Creek Connector (#107A).

Horse access and MTB access are explicitly supported for this trail in the system; the same ground route is used by multiple user types rather than being limited to pedestrians only.
