Cass’s Gully

A big open slide beneath the largest rock buttress in the notch. This slide used to feature a hanging couloir that could only be accessed by rappelling in from above, but this was completely obliterated by a massive rock fall in 2020. The line can now be hiked much higher from below. Skin into the notch and locate a chute with a variety of downed trees from the rockfall. Hike up via the cleanest line to the large boulder field, and up into the chute above. Dig out a spot beneath where the chute gets pinched out by ice and rock, then drop in and rip. This line is capable of producing large avalanches and was the scene of a near miss with a wind slab, save this one for a day with good stability.
