Chicken Chute
One of the best chutes in the Notch. This is a good way to “chicken out” of the ice bulges in lower Tusk. Don’t be fooled though, this line is also quite steep and spicy! Ski The Tusk to just above the bushy low angle section. Look for a traverse to skiers right. Follow this to a drainage. Drop in as the line steepens and gets high rock walls on both sides, with an iconic tree bridges across the top. Ski through the tight portal as the line steepens even more. A small mandatory air is usually present in lean conditions. Ski the long and consistent chute all the way down to the Notch Road. Some of the most consistent chute skiing in Vermont. Be aware that this line is capable of producing avalanches.
