Corfu Trail

Corfu Trail is the long-distance hiking route that runs end-to-end across the Greek island of Corfu. It’s typically planned as a multi-day traverse (10 day stages) from Kavos in the south to Agios Spyridonas/Agios Spiridonas in the north.

Route length is about 150–180 km depending on variations. The standard concept is an island-scale walk through old paths and coastal tracks, with frequent changes between olive groves, rural valleys, and upland sections.

You can hike it either direction; signage and waymarking are set up to work both northbound and southbound. Most itineraries are organized south-to-north, so the longer, tougher north-side segments come in later.

Trail marking is based on yellow waymarks with a “CT” marking and painted symbols. Waymarks aren’t constant everywhere, so navigation planning matters on longer stages.

A core “map-and-move” planning feature is lodging and resupply: the route is built around staying in guesthouses, small hotels, and village rooms, with daily town-to-town walking that keeps you close to food options.

The difficulty profile is described as low to moderate overall, with a mix of easy beach walking and longer days that include steeper ascents and descents. The last third becomes more rugged as you approach the island’s high ground around Mount Pantokrator.

Season planning is a big part of the route experience: spring (roughly April–June) and autumn (September–October) are repeatedly recommended for more comfortable hiking conditions, while peak summer heat is a key constraint for daily mileage.

On the ground, the trail also includes a north-coast beach finish at Agios Spyridonas/Agios Spiridonas, and many walkers build stages to take advantage of swims where the route passes the coastline.
