Country Club Trail #632

Country Club Trail #632 is a short loop hike near Pinetop-Lakeside, set in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. The route runs through ponderosa pine and juniper/oak woodland and is mapped as a ground-surface path open to hiking, biking, and horse riding.

Expect a loop around 3.3–3.5 miles long for a typical day hike, commonly taking about an hour to complete at a steady pace. Net climbing is modest (about 50 m / ~160 ft), but there’s a noticeable steeper ascent section during the hike, which can be the hardest part for many walkers.

The trail is laid out inside the broader White Mountain TRACKS system. It has at least one named connector in the network: a one-mile Iron Horse connector trail that links Country Club with nearby areas including The Springs.

A common trip pattern is to start from the trailhead parking and hike the loop counter-clockwise, which places the route’s main climb later in the outing rather than right away. There’s also an optional Pat Mullen Mountain spur route associated with Country Club Trail #632 that extends the hike beyond the main loop.

Facilities and logistics are straightforward for a day trip; the Forest Service listing notes water is not available on the trail. Plan to carry enough water for the length of your loop plus any spur you choose.

Because it’s multi-use and shared with mountain bikers and horses, treat the trail as shared-use rather than a solo hiking-only corridor—especially in busier seasons in the Pinetop-Lakeside area. Dogs are generally permitted but should be controlled on leash.
