Day 04: Trek from Chame
Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,300m / 10,827ft), Distance: 15 km and Duration: 5 hours
You’ll have breakfast and pass the smooth slate cliffs of Pauganda Danda and reaches Barthang village in about an hour.
Barthang has Nepal's largest apple orchard with roughly 67,000 trees covering the hillsides. Local families serve you fresh apple pie, crumble, strudel, and homemade cider that provides welcome refreshment during the trek.
The route continues over Swargadwari Bridge into the valley near Dukure Pokhari. Towering rock faces can be seen directly from the lush valley floor, creating impressive scenery. The trail remains relatively more straightforward until you reach Pisang village, divided into Lower and Upper sections.
Lower Pisang offers excellent views of Pisang Peak and the Annapurna range from the main trail. A moderate 30 to 40-minute climb leads to Upper Pisang, where the mountain panoramas become even more remarkable.
