Day 06: Hike to Manang
Hike to Manang (3,540m / 11,614ft), Distance: 8 - 10 km and Duration: 4 - 5 hours.
Starting from Ngawal, you follow a descending trail toward Manang, passing through Julu and Humde. The route crosses several mani walls and small bridges, with views opening across the valley. As you reach Braga, the terrain turns more rugged. Here, you can explore the ancient Braga Monastery and nearby Bodzo Gompa, both reflecting strong Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Continuing onward, the trail leads directly to Manang, the largest settlement in the region. Surrounded by peaks like Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak, the village serves as an important stop for acclimatization. From here, trekkers have the option to hike up to Gangapurna Lake for better altitude adjustment before continuing the journey.
