Route Details

Acclimatization in Manang (3,540m / 11,614ft), Distance: 3-4 km and Duration: 2-3 hours.

After days of walking uphill, Manang village is a perfect place to rest your tired legs. This rest day helps your body get used to the thin mountain air before you keep going.Manang has something for everyone, whether you want to relax or look around. A short walk to Gangapurna Lake takes you to a pretty blue lake made from melted ice. You can sit quietly and watch pieces of ice floating in the cold water.

You can also walk up to Milarepa Cave, where a well-known Buddhist monk once lived alone for years to pray and think. This walk gives trekkers great views of the valley and shows them old spiritual places.

The best part of Manang is walking through its narrow stone paths past houses with flat roofs stacked with wood for fires. At night, you'll have warm soup and go to bed early to get ready for tomorrow's hard climb.
