Dingle Way

Dingle Way is a long-distance circular walking route around the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. It is a National Waymarked Trail and is managed locally through the Dingle Way Committee and Kerry County Council.

The route starts and finishes in Tralee. It’s typically completed in eight days, with the mapped length shown for this item as 1.68 km (this entry represents only a small section/point along the full long-distance walk).

The highest point on the Dingle Way is the Shoulder of Mount Brandon at 640 m. The trail network combines mountain track and other footpaths with roads, field and cliff paths, and beach sections.

Route character shifts across the peninsula: early stages leave Tralee via the Tralee Ship Canal towpath to Blennerville, then move through road climbs to the Slieve Mish Mountains before descending toward Tralee Bay and onward via places including Camp, Annascaul, Dingle, and Dunquin.

Sections around Slea Head and the Dunquin–Ballycurrane area include cliff path walking, plus stretches combining roads, beaches, and cliff paths; the most mountainous part is the ascent and descent around the saddle between Brandon and Masatiompan.

Across the full route, the Way then heads through Brandon and Cloghane, follows Fermoyle Strand (Ireland’s longest beach) to Fahamore, and uses coastal walking through to Camp before returning along the outward line to Tralee.
