Falzarego Pass - Lagazuoi Refuge - Piccolo Lagazuoi - Kaiserjäger Via Ferrata
This route isn't too long, but it has a challenging elevation gain at the beginning as you quickly ascend 600m to reach the Lagazuoi Refuge at 2752m from the Falzarego Pass at 2109m above sea level. The path starts immediately behind the chairlift, following signpost 402, which initially follows the ski slope (this entire section can be avoided by taking the cable car directly to the top of the Lagazuoi Refuge). As you walk, you'll already see the first remnants of war trenches and arrive at the Travenanzes pass. Proceed to the left and continue to gain altitude, encountering the first snow and ice (we did the route on October 16th). Once you reach the Lagazuoi Refuge, there are various options: you can decide to descend to the lake of the same name or continue, as we did, towards the summit of Piccolo Lagazuoi and from there take the Kaiserjäger Via Ferrata. We had already rented the equipment, but for the few exposed sections, we encountered people without harnesses! The entire downhill route passes through the trenches and positions of the Second World War, arriving at the caves where it's possible to follow an alternative route (we preferred to explore them halfway and then return to the path). The arrival point is always the parking lot behind the cable car. I would advise against it for those who suffer from vertigo, as you have to cross a suspension bridge and there are 3 exposed points.
