Golden Gate Scramble
Easy approach hike (1.5 miles with some switchbacks). At the trail intersection for Coyote and Mule Deer we'll start heading up the ridge with some light 3rd class scrambling.
Easy escape vector headed downhill to the SW through sparse coniferous forest if we decide to bail at any point. Good sun coverage for most of the approach but exposure increases once the scramble starts, so hat/long sleeves + sunscreen very strongly recommended.
Comfortable and grippy shoes recommended (boots or approach shoes) for purchase on rocks. Gloves also recommended. I will likely bring a half rope and a handful of trad pieces in case a belay or rappel is helpful, but it hasn't been needed the last two times I've been here.
Bring beers and snacks to enjoy up top!
