Greenwich Dunes Trail

Greenwich Dunes Trail is a day-hike out-and-back in Prince Edward Island National Park, built around a core flat walk on boardwalk sections across wet ground and toward the edge of the coastal dunes.

Expect an easy-to-moderate effort over a roughly 2.2 km mapped return distance, typically taking about 1.5–2 hours for the round trip.

Start from the Greenwich Interpretation Centre area and work your way from wooded trail into the boardwalk corridor that carries you over marsh/wetland before you turn onto the final dune-side climb.

The turnaround is on Greenwich Beach territory: after the boardwalk crossing, the route finishes with wooden steps/ropes to get up and over the sandy coastal dunes.

Trail design here is specifically meant to protect a highly sensitive dune ecosystem; dogs and bicycles are not permitted on the trail.

Facilities and access are tied to the Greenwich Interpretation Centre at 29 Wild Rose Road, with the park advising that in the off-season (roughly Thanksgiving through Victoria Day) the parking lots, trails, boardwalks, and stairs in Greenwich aren’t maintained and there’s only limited emergency response.
