Hundred Inch Chute
An improbable and adventurous line down the center of the Kitchen Wall. You don’t need 100 inches to ski it, but it’s certainly more fun with 100 inches, due to the amount of trees in the line. There’s two logical approaches. Skin up the auto road to the gain the long trail and follow it to the top, or boot up the Cliff Trail Gully, hike south on the ridge, up and over Rock Garden, to the next prominent snowfield. Open turns past sparse trees in the upper snowfield eventually funnel you down into a tree filled gully. Ski tight fir glades beneath the most prominent rock buttress, following the terrain down and right until you meet the bottom of Amherst Chute. Cut through the woods until cross an unmarked crosscut.
