Javelina Trail #332

Javelina Trail #332 is a long-distance connector in Prescott National Forest near Prescott, Arizona. It’s commonly treated as a short, rolling day segment that’s easy to splice into bigger route loops.

Expect a roughly 5.2-mile hike with about 518 feet of elevation gain. The tread stays mixed: high-desert chaparral and pinyon-juniper, with shaded stretches through ponderosa pine.

The trail rises and falls through Arizona’s central highlands and frequently follows an old Santa Fe railroad grade, which is why parts of it feel flatter and more straightforward than other Prescott trail segments.

A key use of #332 is as a “central artery” through the Spence Basin trail network. It intersects with other well-known routes, which lets you build out customized hikes by connecting onward to adjacent trail systems.

Access is typically handled from the White Rock Trailhead off East Thumb Butte Road; from there you connect to #332 via the surrounding Prescott National Forest trail network.

For movement, the corridor supports hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, so you’ll share the route with mixed users along the chaparral/forest mix of singletrack and grade-following tread. Dogs are welcome but should be leashed.
