Laguna Torre Trail

Laguna Torre Trail (Senda a Laguna Torre) is a day-hike route in Los Glaciares National Park from El Chaltén, running as an out-and-back to Torre Lagoon (about 18–20 km round trip).

Plan on roughly 7–8 hours round-trip with about 500 m of elevation gain. The steepest work comes early on, then the route eases out into the Río Fitz Roy valley as you move through glacial moraines toward the lagoon.

Early ascent includes a steep uphill start for the first stretch and a short chain section; after that, the walking generally transitions to a more rolling rhythm before the final push to Laguna Torre.

A marked camping option sits on the route shortly before the lagoon: De Agostini Campground, which is commonly used to break up the hike or to base an early/late visit to the lake area.

The trailhead is at the west end of El Chaltén at the end of Los Charitos street, with signage for “Senda a Laguna Torre”.

Use park rules for access and behavior on the trail: dogs are not allowed, drones are prohibited, and fire is strictly prohibited with camp stoves limited to designated official campsites.
