Larry's Loop
Route Details
Larry's Loop is a beginner-oriented cross-country singletrack in the Brackendale trail network near Squamish. Ride it for smooth flow and gentle terrain, and expect it to be commonly stitched into longer beginner loops with nearby green trails (for example Ray Peters Trail, Rusty Bucket, and Sweet Judy).
The mapped difficulty stays easy/green with light climbs and rolling grade rather than steep technical riding, and it’s marked for both directions. When you’re out there, don’t rely on the trail name alone—sections have been renamed (including Reefer Rip and Rusty Bucket, plus Larry’s Shortcut), so navigation needs attention if you’re trying to stay on the classic loop concept.
Access is off Squamish Valley Road near the area where the Ray Peters and Larry’s Loop trail networks converge. Before committing, scout the line you intend to ride and be ready for temporary trail-blockage issues after storms; reports include downed trees on several sections at different times of year.
Because this network can be easy to get off-track when signage is limited, use your map and GPS tracking so you don’t drift onto similarly connected trail segments. In wet weather, slow down and be deliberate through roots/rocks and any muddier patches you encounter—small footing slips can add up quickly on a system designed to be flowed rather than hammered.
