Leland Creek Trail
Leland Creek Trail is a 4.7-mile single-track hiking route in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. It functions as a wilderness access trail along a valley-bottom route, threading dense forest terrain.
The route starts at the junction with the Icicle Creek Trail #1551 and finishes at the junction with the Bear Creek Trail #943 (at Trail #941, Pyramid Peak). In practice, treat it as a short connector between larger trail systems rather than a standalone loop.
Expect consistently muddy footing; the trail is known as a muddy route in this corridor. Leland and Icicle Creek crossings are handled with fords, so wet conditions can matter a lot.
Plan crossings with high water in mind: fords across Leland and Icicle Creeks are not recommended during high water. If you’re timing a day built around the connector, treat water level as the deciding factor.
The trail is primarily encountered as a dirt path with poor trail visibility (trail visibility noted as horrible). Routefinding can be an issue even though the distance is short, especially around junctions and in muddy tread.
Horse use is allowed (horse=yes), and the corridor sits in wilderness where standard Alpine Lakes Wilderness rules apply; check current wilderness permitting requirements before you go.
