Silhabdhani Trail to Bhubhu Pass

Silhabdhani Trail to Bhubhu Pass is a long-distance hiking route in Himachal Pradesh that links the Chuhar Valley side (Mandi) to the Lagh Valley side (Kullu), centered on the Bhubhu Pass crossing.

The route is mapped as an easy hiking route with hiking trail context on track-like surface, and it’s treated as a long-distance member route (2 route ways).

Expect big terrain variation: one side is described as densely forested while the other trends rough and rocky, with a very steep final approach to Bhubhu Pass from both sides.

Route scale is listed around 8 to 10 hours and roughly 14 km (8.9 miles) point-to-point, with reported elevation gain of about 4,179 ft and a maximum altitude around 2,900 m / 9,280 ft at the pass.

A common start point used for the trek itinerary is Tikken Bridge on the Mandi side; buses from the Mandi/Jogindernagar area heading toward Barot drop hikers at Tikken Bridge so the walking begins there.

A straightforward 2-day structure is commonly described: Day 1 from Tikken Bridge to Silh-Budhani/Silh FRH (about 10–12 km on foot), then Day 2 from the FRH area toward Hurang and onward to the Lagh Valley side (about 15–16 km).

Seasonal timing is given as early May through July and again late September, with the caveat that April and September can bring snow and generally cold/precipitation risk around higher ground.

Stay/stop options referenced along the route include Silh FRH, with additional stops mentioned around Devgarh, Dharmed, and Hurang Village. Permits aren’t described as required for the trek, with police registration noted for non-Himachali visitors at Tindi Police Post.
