The Tusk

This is the most prominent slide on the Spruce Peak Side. When this slide ripped out it reportedly blocked the road with dirt and debris. Conveniently, previous glade cuts led directly to it. Ski Upper Smugglers until you see an area boundary disk to skiers right. Side slip into a little isle. This opens up into a drainage wide enough for tight turns now. The top entrance to the slide is usually a jumble of rocks and stumps, pass this, in favor of a better entrance just a little further down. Ski a short lived upper section to reach a low angle bushy section. Navigate this to reach the crux. The line steepens and a series of ice bulges present themselves. Ski through a series of tight chokes and small drops out to the Notch Road. This line needs a good amount of snow to be skiable.
