3 months ago a guide picked was picking up clients at a Japanese hotel I was staying at and told me “nice hat”, 3 months later and it’s been a wonderful week of randonee skiing in the alps while crashing at his crib. Skied some cool lines with a stern but fair mentor and also got to workshop my 3-5 year plan with someone who has been through the industry rigamarole. And now it’s time to bid adieu, for now. I found a hostel dorm in chamonix for 25 USD a night, and will show up solo and see what happens the next 4 days. I’m toast on skiing atm and am happy to just catch up on life admin. I will deal with all the cc debt I’ve accumulated when I get back to the states
