Via da Tasna
Via da Tasna is an easy, long-distance hiking route in the Lower Engadine area near Scuol, Switzerland. It follows track terrain (grade 4) as it threads through Val Tasna.
A practical way to think about the walk is as a descent from the Motta Naluns area down toward the Tasnan valley floor, then a relaxed, flatter traverse for roughly the middle portion. The main Via da Tasna “flat stretch” is described at about 4 km, running along the valley floor.
On the descent, the route passes Alp Laret and reaches the Tasnan mountain stream area before continuing along the contour toward Alp Valmala. Alp Valmala is a key waymarker on this route through the valley.
The Val Tasna section also connects into the broader movement through the valley system: at Pra da Punt a bridge leads to the next segment heading toward “God Baselgia”, continuing the route options beyond the valley toward Ftan.
If you want a convenient loop-style day in this region, this route is commonly used as part of longer itinerary variants that keep things mostly in the valley character before linking to areas around Ardez and Scuol.
For a typical outing planning load, expect around 3–5 hours of hiking depending on where you start and end within the Motta Naluns / Val Tasna / Scuol-area linkages; the track rating and overall difficulty stay in the easy range for these variants.
