Achelous Bouldering Area

Achelous Bouldering Area is a developing bouldering area in the Fraser Canyon near Yale, British Columbia. The boulders extend from the plain down to the riverbed, with one listed boulder climb and one listed alpine climb.

River levels shape access to the lower problems: many boulders can be underwater during the spring rise, typically from early May through mid-June. The approach begins about 4 km after Yale, before Saddle Rock Tunnel, using the northbound pullout to reach the old highway; after roughly five minutes of driving, a faint trail drops down a creek bed to the beach in about three minutes. Sections affected by the 2021 flood remain driveable by any vehicle, though the descent is rough in places.
