Admiralty Cove Cabin

Admiralty Cove Cabin is a primitive wilderness cabin in Tongass National Forest, run by USFS on the northern tip of Admiralty Island near Admiralty Cove in Young Bay. Access is by float plane or boat with anchor; the cabin is in a designated wilderness area where helicopter access is illegal. The cabin accommodates up to six people and is furnished with wooden bunks (no mattresses), plus a table and benches, an oil stove for heat, an outside toilet, and a campfire ring outside.

Plan on bringing your own sleeping gear and cooking supplies: the cabin has no running water or electricity. Visitors must bring drinking water, food, sleeping bags and sleeping pads, a camp cook stove, matches, cooking gear/utensils, a light source, No.1 stove oil, toilet paper, a first-aid kit, and garbage bags. A camp stay supports activities in the immediate area such as hiking, fishing, boating, beachcoming, and wildlife viewing; the Admiralty Cove-Young Lake trailhead is at the cabin and the trail goes toward the North Young Lake cabin.

Recreation.gov reservations are required for Admiralty Cove Cabin, and use is subject to remote-area safety guidance, including bear, water, and weather safety. All garbage and food must be packed out.
