Albanita Trail

Albanita Trail (Trail 35E06) is a long-distance hiking route in Sequoia National Forest near Inyokern, California, built for easy mileage with relatively restrained elevation change for much of the tread.

The route starts off Forest Road 21S36A and heads northeast for roughly 3 miles to Albanita Meadow; the Forest Service describes the tread as standard/“Terra Trail” surface (ground-dominant) and notes very limited water along the way.

Within the South Sierra Wilderness, the trail has little elevation change; plan water accordingly and expect long stretches without reliable flow.

Outside the wilderness boundary, the corridor is open to hiking and also permits mountain biking (including e-bikes), horseback riding, and motorcycle/OHV riding in designated areas.

For longer days, the same corridor ties into other regional backcountry routes at Albanita Meadow—either connecting with Hooker Meadow Trail at the southwest end of Albanita Meadow or with Lost Meadow Trail at the southeast end.

The route is commonly used as a connector toward Jackass Peak and South Sierra Wilderness terrain; it also joins with major backcountry lines that include the Hooker Meadow Trail, Lost Meadow Trail, and Granite-Broder Trail.
