Anchor Crag

Anchor Crag is a small granite crag in Sechelt on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. The climbing is centered on prominent cracks and comparatively featureless faces, with jams and liebacks providing much of the movement. The rock quality is described as good, but the routes are very short.

The area has 14 documented lines: 8 trad climbs, 4 top-rope climbs, and 2 projects. Grades run from 5.8 to 5.11a, with the main spread from 5.8 through 5.10b. Named routes include Danforth Crack, KLIP Crack, Anteos Crack, Delta Triple, What Now, Huh?, and Over Easy.

Approach from Anchor Road: cross Trail Avenue, continue to the road end, and follow the trail uphill. At the old dump truck, take the left-hand trail and continue roughly 200 feet to the crag. A path before the crag leads to the top; the second wall is reached by scrambling down logs to the left of the main wall. Keep clear of the road beyond the crag, which enters private property, and respect nearby homes by keeping noise down.
