Bergerie de Galghello
Bergerie de Galghello is a small, unstaffed mountain shelter in Corsica at 1,632 m, used only occasionally as cover for hunters and herders. It sleeps 3 people on basic foam mattresses placed on old bed frames, and there’s a fireplace/wood-burning setup available for cooking and warming.
Expect a very simple interior: a little tableware is kept there, but there’s no stove. The roof is in poor condition, so treat the shelter as basic protection and plan for damp weather—this is not a maintained refuge. A water source (the Galghello spring) is nearby, though it can be unreliable.
Access is from Corscia via local footpaths through maquis to the older bergerie of Liccioghia, then a steep climb to a small flat area before continuing toward Galghello. Another route option leaves the Île-Rousse–Corte walking trail at the Col de Serra Piana, then heads down toward the Capo di Lino area to reach the bergerie.
