Bill Putnam (Fairy Meadow) Hut

10 photos

Bill Putnam (Fairy Meadow) Hut is an Alpine Club of Canada backcountry hut used as a base for winter ski touring and ski mountaineering and, in summer, for granite mountaineering. The hut sleeps up to 20 and is equipped with a wood sauna, an extensive kitchen, propane heat/light and a propane stove and oven; water is from a creek and the toilet is an outhouse.

Access is via helicopter or a very long, very difficult hike—hiking is strongly discouraged. Summer access is described as being trail passable/cleared in June 2024; in winter the hut is used for ski week programs with bookings awarded via a lottery system (the Fairy Meadow Ski Week Lottery is closed for now). Member rates are listed as $50 and non-member rates as $60; payment and availability can change, so confirm before booking.
