Bomber Hut
Bomber Hut is a Mountaineering Club of Alaska wilderness backcountry hut built in 1990 and used as an overnight destination on the Bomber Traverse. It sleeps 7–9 and is set at 3900 feet in the Bartholf Creek valley, about 1½ miles north of the Bomber Glacier and roughly 8 miles from the Reed Lakes trailhead.
Basic on-site setup is limited: there’s no drinking water provided and there’s no fireplace. A water source is at 50 yards to the right of the front door among boulders (or via creeks), and there’s an outhouse about 20 yards from the front door with instructions to burn used toilet paper. The hut is insulated and includes a lantern and a Coleman 2-burner cook stove; bring your own fuel. Access requires glacier travel skills, and members can access it under Mountaineering Club of Alaska membership (access is limited to members).
