Cabane de Yèse
Cabane de Yèse is a small backcountry shepherd’s hut at 1,725 m in the Pyrenees. It’s unstaffed and meant for basic overnight shelter when you’re transiting on foot rather than for a planned, supported stay.
Inside, there’s seating at a table and a small sleeping setup using a mezzanine with mattresses for 2–3 people; total sleeping is for about 3 people. The hut is typically kept open outside the summer shepherding period, but it can be occupied by a shepherd during the estive season.
For sleeping logistics, expect a rustic shelter with no electricity or running water. Bring your own sleeping bag and pad, plus cooking gear, and plan on filtering any nearby water (a stream/source is generally within about 100 m).
Bivouacking rules apply in the wider area: if you camp nearby rather than inside the hut, tents are only permitted between 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM and must be at least an hour’s walk from road access points.
