Cabane d'Envalls
Cabane d'Envalls is a small, unguarded backcountry hut at 1590 m in the Catalan Pyrenees, used as an emergency stop for hikers walking the GRP Tour du Carlit area. It’s tied to the huts-and-pass style of travel around the Chapelle Saint-Martin-d'En-Valls: plan on being self-reliant rather than expecting staff support.
Inside, there’s space for 1 person on a single mattress/platform. The hut has a corner fireplace, plus a table, bench, and a place for sleeping low to the ground (with a plastic ground sheet and floor mats). A stove isn’t provided.
Access is via a short approach: it’s is about 500 m after Angoustrine (toward Font Romeu), continuing along the road for 3 km, then continuing on foot on the GRP Tour du Carlit at a bend; the hut sits by the trail next to the chapel. Use is free and it’s a first-arrival refuge—if the hut is occupied, be prepared to camp nearby.
