Camino Lois-Acebedo
Camino Lois-Acebedo is a point-to-point long-distance hiking route in the Parque Regional de la Montaña de Riaño y Mampodre (León, Spain). It runs between the village of Lois and the village of Acebedo and is commonly used as a segment of the GR®1 Sendero Histórico.
Typical length is about 12.7 km, usually taking 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending on pace. The trip is positioned as a moderate outing rather than an all-day endurance walk, with conditions and time varying by how quickly you move between villages and along the valley paths.
The route travels through a secluded valley in the eastern mountains of León, with the feel of older paths connecting quiet rural hamlets. Expect a remote, low-traffic vibe for most of the walk.
Elevation and terrain shift noticeably along the way: the character transitions from pink marble formations near Lois to greener high-mountain meadows toward the Mampodre massif.
Because the route is in a mountainous area, plan on weather sensitivity. Sturdy, waterproof hiking shoes are recommended, and winter snow can occur here.
This route is also described as available for cyclists (bicycle: yes), so be ready to share the corridor with occasional bike users on the track sections.
