Since its formation, the city pond, which is also referred to as the heart of the city of Baumholder, has been highly appreciated by the public as an inner-city recreational area and enjoys great popularity, especially in summer. / The natural swimming pond, which attracts not only locals, offers recreation and entertainment for the whole family. In summer, the pond terraces and the newly designed beach area are ideal for relaxation and enjoyment. The pond is perfect for our little guests who enjoy playing in and around the water, on the artificial sandy beach or the large sandbox. Use of the pond is free all year round. Supervision of the swimming areas is the responsibility of the city of Baumholder and the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG). / Within just a few minutes you can reach the old town with shops, ice cream parlour and restaurants. At the pond you will find sufficient free parking spaces. Sunbathing lawns, a kiosk and sanitary facilities are provided for our guests. The artificial sandy beach and a large sandbox are great for ball games (e.g. volleyball) are possible on the lawn. In the middle of the pond there is a giant trampoline with catapult and a slide, which is very popular with adolescent swimmers. / Stand-up paddling on the pond is permitted. If you don't have your own SUP, you can borrow one of the three SUPs from the DLRG for a small rental fee. / From mid-July 2024, the club will also have two water walking balls in its repertoire, which can also be used for a rental fee. You get into the large balls and can then walk - or roll - across the water with dry feet. / 5 places for caravans at the parking lot of the lake (water and power available). / In summer, the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) organises various activities and festivals all around the pond. In cold winters, when the lake turns into an ice rink, it is used for ice skating. / Dogs are allowed on the free lawn. / Dog owners will find enough trash cans and poop bag dispensers on the pond circuit to keep the paths clean.
