Cosmos Peak 1697m Prominence: 247m Highest peak on the craggy ridge named Cosmos Heights. The recorded ascent used helicopter to access the ridge about 2 km east of the peak, just east of Cosmos NE2. From there, they followed the ridge, traversing all summits, to the highest summit. They then continued SW and south to a broad, flat summit about 1.7 km SW of the main summit. Some class 3-4, with a rappel or two needed. The rock on the craggy parts of the ridge is a bit loose. Named in 1862 by Captain Richards, RN, in association with Amor Point, both after Amor De Cosmos (1826 - 1897), founder and first editor of Victorias Colonist newspaper, and 2nd premier of the Province of British Columbia.
