Crag Camp
Crag Camp is a fully enclosed Randolph Mountain Club backcountry cabin on the north side of Mt Adams, sitting at 4,247 feet on the edge of King Ravine along the Spur Trail. It has overnight room for 20 guests and is served by a caretaker mid-June through August and on some busier non-summer weekends.
Plan on a self-sufficient stay: there’s no stove, and it isn’t insulated, so it gets very cold in the off season. Counter space and stove boards are provided, but you’ll need to bring your own cooking stoves and utensils; liquid-fuel stoves are prohibited inside the camp. There’s an outhouse with a composting toilet, and water is available from a spring about a quarter mile west on the Gray Knob Trail (no running water inside the shelter).
Overnight use is first-come, first-served, and you pay the caretaker in the evening with cash or credit card. Day-use at the shelter is free. RMC collects $30 for members and $50 for non-members for an overnight at Crag Camp, and there are no reservations.
