Crouching Squirrel Hidden Monkey
Crouching Squirrel Hidden Monkey is a fast, aggressive singletrack downhill in the Diamond Head / Alice Lake area of Squamish. It’s known for rocky, technical running with roots in the mix, and it also includes some built features where you may want to use ride-arounds instead of committing if you’re not at full confidence.
The trail carries advanced-level difficulty (described as “Black” by local route coverage). Intermediate riders can still ride it, but the more demanding options may be worth walking—especially if you’re unsure of the rock drops and rock-roller style features mid-line.
Access is from Debeck's Grind above Alice Lake, at the northern-most end of the trail entrance area. Riders commonly treat it as an end-to-end gravity lap lasting about 10–20 minutes and roughly 1.6 km in total distance.
It sits in a southwest-facing zone that tends to dry quickly; that same sun exposure means conditions can change fast. Before sending it, do a quick scout for the technical rock sections and any optional features, and don’t ride if it’s still damp—wet rock/roots tend to make the built lines and braking zones much less predictable.
