Dhradka Raeel/Bagga Trail
Dhradka Raeel/Bagga Trail is a long-distance alpine hiking route in Himachal Pradesh near Kareri and Dharamshala, set in the Dhauladhar range. It’s mapped as a path track (not bike-friendly) with a “mountain hiking” SAC scale.
At about 5.6 km total, the route is rated moderate overall but it’s strongly defined by steep, rugged hiking and sustained altitude gain, with uneven footing in forested sections.
The climb starts in the Kareri/Rava/Ghera approach area and trends upward through wooded terrain, including sections where the tread can be narrow and overgrown; one documented ascent describes nettles and prickly growth in upper parts.
Route progress includes crossings and drainages—there’s at least one described stream crossing/hopping over boulders, plus a river-valley style alignment where the track follows bends and cut faces.
Higher up, the trail reaches the Bagga area and Bagga pass region (called “Jyot” locally in a trip report). At the pass area (~4300 m in that report), snow and hard ice can cover slopes on the far side, making traction and footwork the main challenge.
The route links into longer systems, with Bagga acting as a staging point for continued trekking options toward Lam Dal Lake routes. For this trail specifically, plan on a steep climb day and treat it as rough-country hiking rather than a walk in the valley.
