Ed's Bypass
Ed's Bypass is a short blue-rated mountain bike singletrack in the Diamond Head riding zone. Expect a downhill/flow-style feel with rooty, small technical features that reward smooth line choice rather than raw speed (about 741 m / 0.4 mi).
In the Alice Lake / Diamond Head area, it commonly serves as a connector off the Alice Lake zone’s broader Mashiter ↔ Rob’s Corners system: many riders reach it after climbing Mashiter from Perth Drive toward the Rob’s Corners area, then use Ed’s Bypass to roll into the next descent/sequence (often linking further into smoother flow lines afterward).
The trail’s tech is part of what makes it useful as a “test section” for intermediate riders: it’s short, but it still asks you to read roots and pick your path through the small features without getting deflected by them.
Ed's Bypass is described as a small, hand-built warm-up section within the Alice Lake riding zone’s wider trail network, and it shows up as a loop component in longer local event route lineups that piece together multiple Diamond Head / Alice Lake trails.
