Edwards Cabin
Edwards Cabin is a rustic backcountry hut in Tetrahedron Provincial Park on the Sunshine Coast, operated by the Tetrahedron Outdoor Club. It’s an overnight stop for hikers and ski tourers, built for first-come, first-served cabin stays rather than booked reservations.
Cabin setup includes a wood stove for heating, a sink with a grey-water bucket (no running water), and an outhouse. Sleeping is in upstairs quarters, with some sleeping pads provided (bring earplugs if you expect noise).
There are no reservations accepted; use a first-come, first-served approach. Cabin stays also operate on a membership/non-members fee basis: $15 per person/night for non-members and $10 per person/night for Tetrahedron Outdoor Club members, with fees payable by advance online payment or by leaving a cash donation/cheque in the drop-box at the cabin.
Edwards Cabin sits at an elevation of about 1,130 m. The Tetrahedron Outdoor Club lists Edwards cabin in their cabin/payment information along with park rules that apply to visitors using the cabins (including a ban on tent camping, along with restrictions on dogs, swimming, biking, motorized vehicles, and drones).
Arrive with a sleeping bag and your own cooking/water setup: with no running water, bring water treatment (or plan to treat/boil water collected from nearby creeks and lakes). Pack toilet paper and dishwashing soap, and follow park guidance to pack out your waste, including food waste.
Access to the cabin depends on the park’s parking-lot system: the club provides directions and notes that the upper parking area road is rough and requires appropriate clearance/drive capability for summer access, while winter access needs 4WD and snow chains. Use the club’s posted cabin/directions material as your freshest planning reference before you go.
