Gelvin's Cabin
Gelvin's Cabin is a remote backcountry wilderness shelter in the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, Alaska, managed by the National Park Service and set up for overnight use along the Charley River. It functions as a historic public-use cabin, and stays are handled on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations.
The cabin is primitive, so plan to be fully self-sufficient: bring your own food, water, sleeping gear, and emergency supplies, and arrive ready to camp if the cabin is already occupied. Access is typically by fly-in—often via Gelvin’s Airstrip—or by remote float trip/rafting expedition down the Charley River.
