Gordan Peak Trail #3387
Gordan Peak Trail #3387 is a long-distance hiking route in the Willamette National Forest. It starts from the Gordan Peak - Scar Mountain Trailhead off the forest road system.
The hike begins on a high ridgeline with periodic views of Mount Jefferson and Three Fingered Jack, then trends downward through mature and old-growth forest.
Route lengths vary depending on how you link segments: expect about 1.5 to 6.7 miles, with the main Gordan Peak spur on the shorter end.
Elevation gain is substantial for a short route—around 530+ feet on the main spur—and longer traverses can reach up to about 2,200 feet of gain.
Difficulty runs strenuous to hard, and it’s set up more like a rugged connector than a casual out-and-back.
For multi-mile loop options, it intersects directly with the Chimney Peak Trail #3382 and the Scar Mountain Trail #3402.
Be aware of wildfire-related closures or temporary restrictions in this area; fire activity has led to closures that have included Gordan Peak Trail #3387 and parts of the surrounding network during the Pyramid Fire period.
