Green Cabin
Route Details
Green Cabin is a rustic, unstaffed backcountry hut in Aulavik National Park, used mainly as a base by park research teams and by local Inuvialuit hunters rather than as a designated recreational stay. The park has two permanent structures; Green Cabin sits near the southern boundary along the Thomsen River and is described as being in a poor state of repair.
This is not a reservable roofed accommodation. Visitors should plan on backcountry camping instead, using mandatory backcountry permits and arranging park entry and safety registration through Parks Canada systems. The park is fly-in only, so access typically requires charter aircraft, and the Thomsen River can be paddled in a window that runs from late June to late July; trips commonly use Green Cabin as a start point.
