Himri Pass Trail

Himri Pass Trail is a long-distance hiking route in Himachal Pradesh that links the Kullu/Raison side to the remote Lagh (Lug) Valley, finishing toward Gramang (also spelled Gramagh).

The route is built around the Himri Pass crossing (highest point listed around 3,261 m), with a sustained climb from the approach side up into high country and a drop on the Lagh Valley side after the pass.

Typical standard-length options are described in the ~8–8.5 mile (about 13.5 km) range for the pass crossing; it’s commonly planned as a 1–2 day direct crossing, while longer itineraries can extend toward Barot via the broader trek connections.

The trail is generally rated moderate-to-hard, with steep ascents through vegetation and rocky ground, and a harder, riskier descent when conditions are snowy or the tread is slick.

Commonly used access patterns start near Benchi and Devta Veer Nath Temple in the Raison/Himri area, using local transport to reach the trailhead area before the main climb.

On the descent into the Lagh Valley, hikers transition from the pass into the Gramang area, where the route can connect onward with neighboring passes such as Bhubhu Pass as part of a larger traverse planning.
