Huckleberry Lane

Huckleberry Lane is a compact sport-climbing crag in the Calcheak area near Whistler, with six moderate routes on a low-angle cliff. The routes span 5.5 to 5.9 in YDS grades and are organized from right to left.

Approach from the basalt roadcut on Daisy Lake Forest Service Road, 2.4 kilometres beyond the Cal-Cheak Recreation Area campground and the single-lane bridge. Huckleberry Lane is the first crag reached, about five minutes from the trailhead, above the stairs; large trees grow close to the base.

The route list includes A Walk on the Wild Side at 5.5 and 15 metres, The First Step at 5.7 and 12 metres, The Hard Way Home at 5.7 and 12 metres, A Little Bit of Squamish at 5.6 and 12 metres, and The Roller Coaster at 5.7 and 8 metres. Huckleberry Pluck is the hardest at 5.9, with 5 bolts and a thin-feet crux on slab climbing.
