Hutchison

Mount Hutchison 1567m Prominence: 798m Suggested by Glenn Woodsworth for Bill Hutch Hutchison, geologist with the Geological Survey of Canada. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1935, received a PhD from University of Toronto in 1962. He joined the GSC in 1962 and began work in the Prince Rupert map area. He was one of several GSC geologists who worked to produece the first geological maps of the BC Coast Mountains; his memoir on the Prince Rupert area was published in 1982. He was appointed Director of the GSC in 1981. Hutch died of cancer on July3, 1987, age 52.
