Jasse du Pla

Jasse du Pla (also known as Cabane des Bésines) is a small, unmanaged stone shepherd’s cabin in the Ariège high country (1981 m). It’s a two-pitched-roof refuge with a fireplace (cheminée) and basic sleeping space for up to 4 people, centered on a wooden bench (bas-flanc) plus a mattress and camp beds.

Sleeping is practical rather than comfortable: there’s room for a camp setup inside, and you should plan to bring what you need to eat and manage your stay without any staffed services. Use is free and typically operates on a first-come basis; during summer it can be occupied by the shepherd between June 15 and October 15.

The cabin is near the ruisseau des Bésines and is close to multiple marked routes in the Bésines area (including the GR10 and GR107). It’s reached from two main directions: by leaving the GR10 on the descent from Porteille des Bésines to pick up a faint track through scrub and along a bank, or by going via Refuge des Bésines and then following GR107 toward Étang des Bésines, including a short stream crossing on a small culvert (ponceau).
